Weather postpones Bailey’s flute recital

John Bailey

Due to inclement weather and the cancellation of classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, John Bailey’s Feb. 2 performance in the Glenn Korff School of Music’s Kimball Recital Hall has been postponed. The performance will be rescheduled for later in this spring semester. The new performance date will be announced.

The program was to include Hindemith’s “Sonatina” for two flutes, performed with DMA student and Hixson-Lied fellow Nicaulis Alliey; his “Eight Pieces” for solo flute; and the “Sonata” for flute and piano, performed with recent DMA graduate Janka Krajciova. The final piece will be performed as a short lecture/recital with discussion of aspects of the piece with musical illustrations.

Bailey is the Richard H. Larson Distinguished Professor of Music and a member of the Moran Woodwind Quintet, the resident faculty quintet at the Glenn Korff School of Music.
