The Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design is showcasing creative work by Nebraska 4-H youth in the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery through Nov. 8.

The “Celebration of Youth XXI: Elegant Solutions” exhibition features works chosen from the home environment, clothing, quilt quest and fashion show divisions of the 2014 Nebraska State Fair. “Elegant Solutions” is on display in the Home Economics Building.

The exhibition closes with a 5 p.m. Nov. 8 gallery talk featuring 28 youths whose work was featured in the display. The talk is in the Home Economics Building, Room 11, and followed by a reception hosted by the friends of the gallery.

The exhibit and closing event are free and open to the public.

The Hillestad Gallery is on the second floor of the Home Economics Building. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and by appointment. For more information on the event, contact Leah Sorensen Hayes at 402-472-2911.
