During her time at the university and with the UNL Rodeo Team, Lindsay Adamson has been no stranger to the spotlight. Last year, for example, the breakaway roper represented the university in front of thousands the College National Finals Rodeo.

This weekend, the senior agribusiness major from Cody will introduce herself to a much larger audience via the syndicated television program “The Real Winning Edge.” The show features high school and college students who have excelled after overcoming challenges.

Adamson’s challenge came in a bolt from above in August 2011, as she gripped a metal gate at a ranch where she worked. Lightning struck the gate and coursed through her body, knocking her unconscious and nearly killing her. “The Real Winning Edge” tells Adamson’s story of perseverance and includes interviews with the UNL senior and her family, as well as Stephen Lahey, associate professor of classics and religious studies at UNL.

The program is not currently carried in syndication by Nebraska broadcast outlets. However, Adamson’s segment can be viewed on YouTube.
