The work of composition students will be featured in the “Wet Ink” concerts, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3 in Westbook Music Building. Both concerts are free and open to the public.

The concerts are organized by the Glenn Korff School of Music each semester and feature original student compositions. The students work on the pieces all semester, putting in more than 50 hours of work, ranging from creation of the composition to rehearsal.

The term “wet ink” refers to the process that composers used before they had computer software to aid in writing music. They would write music with a fountain pen and paper and new music could be premiered before the ink was even dry.

The programs will range across a variety of styles and instruments, including strings, choir and jazz combo.

The Dec. 3 performance will also be shown live online.
