Ross hosts live showing of ‘A View from the Bridge’

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents The National Theatre production of “A View from the Bridge,” broadcast live from London at 7 p.m. March 26, with an encore presentation at 3 p.m. March 29.

Written by of Arthur Miller, the story confronts the American dream. Set in Brooklyn, the story follows longshoreman Eddie Carbone as he welcomes his Sicilian cousins to America. When one of the cousins falls for Carbone’s niece, the family discovers freedom comes at a price. Carbone’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.

The cast features Mark Strong as Carbone. The production is directed by Ivo van Hove.

The approximate run time is 122 minutes.

“National Theatre Live” is an initiative to broadcast live performances of plays to cinema screens worldwide. Broadcasts in the first season were watched by more than 165,000 people on 320 screens in 22 countries. The broadcasts will also feature behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with artists.
