National Theatre’s ‘Skylight’ shows at the Ross

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents The National Theatre’s production of “Skylight,” starring Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan, broadcast live from London at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 with an encore presentation at 3 p.m. Oct 26.

Stephen Daldry will direct the production of David Hare’s “Skylight.”

On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant, a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife recently died.

As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.

“National Theatre Live” is an initiative to broadcast live performances of plays to cinema screens worldwide. Broadcasts in the first season were watched by more than 165,000 people on 320 screens in 22 countries. The broadcasts will also feature behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with artists.
