Free ‘Silver Screenings’ film series opens Jan. 28

UNL's Lied Center for Performing Arts hosts the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' "Grow A Show New Musical Theatre" workshop from Sept. 9-11.

The Lied Center for Performing Arts will host a free film series designed to reflect upcoming shows on the Lied stage.

The “Silver Screenings” series opens with a 7 p.m. Jan. 28 showing of “The Diavolo Project” in the Nebraska Union Ballroom. The film features eight teaching artists from Nebraska taking part in an intense dance course with Jacques Heim, founder and artistic director of the dance company Diavolo.

The Los Angeles-based Diavolo dance group performs at the Lied Center on Feb. 3.

After each screening, free desserts and refreshments will be provided by the Lied Center.
