iPad Roundtable to explore collaborations and assignments

The iPad Roundtable series continues with a 2 p.m. Feb. 13 presentation on how to promote a collaborative learning environment. The hour-long session, led by Guy Trainin, associate professor of teaching, learning and teacher education, is in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center (room posted).

Trainin will will present apps, websites, sample assignments and activities that promote deeper learning. He will also share the ways to incorporate video into classes to simplify work and improve the student experience.

The session is free, but registration — available at http://go.unl.edu/ipadlearn — is required.

The iPad Roundtable series is sponsored by Information Technology Services.

Trainin is the project director for the annual Tech Edge Conference, a partnership between Nebraska school districts, UNL and Concordia University. Tech Edge is designed to equip teachers to effectively use new technologies to prepare the students of tomorrow. Trainin conducts research on reading acquisition, teacher education, and the integration of technology and arts in the classroom. He is also director of UNL’s Kit and Dick Schmoker Reading Center.
