A new UNL website is offering resources and information to help faculty and staff secure a visa for travel abroad.

Launched by the Office of International Engagement, the UNL visas website is designed to make the visa process easier to navigate.

“Securing a visa can be a confusing and frustrating process,” said Dave Wilson, UNL’s senior international officer. “But it requires more patience and attention to detail than it does expertise. We’re hopeful that this new page can help inform travelers of their options for assistance.”

Through the new website, employees can access UNL’s online portal to CIBT, a service that specializes in expedited visa services, and links to other visa processing providers. The website also features information about enrolling in the U.S. Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, current travel warning restrictions, how to stay in compliance University of Nebraska regulations (including Executive Memorandum No. 25), and what type of research activities are subject to U.S. export control regulations.
