Twenty senior students have been selected as Homecoming royalty finalists at UNL. The Homecoming king and queen will be elected by a vote of the student body on Oct. 3 and crowned on Oct. 5 at halftime of the Nebraska vs. Illinois football game at Memorial Stadium.

Elections of UNL royalty is taking place on students’ MyRed portal.

Homecoming week at UNL runs through Oct. 5 under the theme “Huskers Around the World.” Related events include a free Oct. 3 concert on East Campus; blood drives; a visit from CNN Headline News’ “Rivalry Express” bus; campus tours on Oct. 4; judging of student lawn displays; an Oct. 4 parade featuring the Cornhusker Marching Band, Spirit Squad and 2013 homecoming royalty; and a pep rally on the Nebraska Union Plaza.

Students nominated for Homecoming royalty are listed below by hometown, with academic major(s) and parents’ names listed.

NEBRASKA

Ainsworth: Jordyn Lechtenberg, agribusiness, daughter of Roger and Rhonda Lechtenberg.

Elkhorn: Hannah Riggle, hospitality, restaurant and tourism management, daughter of Ron and Kim Riggle.

Fairbury: Allison Skidmore, anthropology (pre-medicine), daughter of Mark and Jeanne Skidmore.

Gresham: John Bader, biologicial systems engineering, son of Gary and Dolores Bader.

Hastings: Morgan Jacobi, nutrition and health sciences (pre-medicine), daughter of Mark and Tami Jacobi.
