Employee Assistance Program offers parenting program

The Employee Assistance Program is offering a seven-week parenting class based on the “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent” program. The class offers ways to raise a responsible child that learns from the consequences of their own mistakes. Participants will learn about preparing children for the real world and avoiding power struggles by letting empathy and consequences do the teaching.

Classes begin at noon Sept. 30 at the 501 Building, Room 128. Participants will receive an overview of the seven-week class schedule, and educational material will be given during each class period that reinforces the learning from the videos and class discussion.

The group will meet noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays at the 501 Building for subsequent classes. Area A parking is available around the building. Participants without an Area A permit can park in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage and get parking validation from EAP.
