Donation drive seeks boots, shoes for elementary students

UNL's School of Natural Resources is asking for new boots and shoes to be donated to Clinton Elementary students.

The School of Natural Resources’ annual “Coats for Clinton” campaign is collecting winter boots and shoes for students at Lincoln’s Clinton Elementary School.

Now in its eighth year, the annual drive normally provides coats and other winter gear to students in the school, which is located at 1520 N. 29th St. However, the drive has changed this year after the Lincoln Firefighters Association provided all 550 Clinton Elementary students with new coats.

The drive is accepting donations — new boots and shoes or monetary gifts — through Dec. 3. A donation box is available in the first floor lobby of Hardin Hall. Monetary donations can be dropped off at the Nebraska Maps and More Store, which is also on the first floor of Hardin Hall.

Monetary donations will be used to purchase shoes or to help fund the installation of a concrete path around the school’s playground.

All checks should be made out to the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools with “Clinton Emergency Fund” in the ledger line.
