Diabetes screening set for March 22

American Diabetes Association Alert day at UNL is March 22.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is participating in the American Diabetes Association Alert Day. Take a simple test and find out the risks of developing type 2 Diabetes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22 at the Campus Rec or the Rec and Wellness Center.

Diabetes is a serious disease. Nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States live with it. More than a quarter of them—8 million—don’t even know they have it and aren’t getting the medical care they need. It’s estimated that another 86 million people have pre-diabetes, which puts them at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes. People with pre-diabetes have blood glucose higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes.

Fill out the Diabetes risk assessment here, then sign up for a free 15-minute mini consultation with a nutrition professional.
