Chamber Singers to perform ‘Blessings of Blue’ at Sheldon

The University Chamber Singers will present “BLESSINGS OF BLUE”, the first concert in their Sheldon Museum of Art 2014-2015 Concert Series, on November 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sheldon Great Hall.  The event is free and open to the public.

The University Chamber Singers will present “Blessings of Blue,” the first concert in their Sheldon Museum of Art 2014-2015 concert series, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Sheldon Great Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The centerpiece of this concert will be the performance of Carol Barnett’s “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass,” which will feature the Chamber Singers and Bluegrass Band.

Other works of “blessing” and “blue” will include Stanford’s “The Bluebird,” Miskinis’ “Cantate Domino,” Palestrina’s “I Vaghi Fiori,” “Down to the River to Pray” from the film “O Brother Where Art Thou?,” Paulus’ “The Road Home” and the premiere of a new work called “Take Thy Rest,” composed by a member of the Chamber Singers, Charlie Leftridge.
