Brown bag talk to explore plants for fall color

The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum’s “All Things Green” brown bag lecture series continues with an Aug. 4 exploration of “Overlooked Plants for Fall Color.”

The talks are held at noon the first Thursday of each month in Keim Hall, Room 150. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Justin Evertson, assistant director of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, will lead the Aug. 4 presentation.

“This program will take a closer look at fall color, highlighting some plants that are often overlooked,” Evertson said. “When October arrives and the weather cools, it’s easy to fall in love with sugar maple morphing through a bright display of oranges, yellows and reds. But about every plant changes color in the fall and may fly under the radar of noticeability competing against the more brightly colored showoffs.”

The talks are streamed online. Individuals attending the talks are encouraged to bring a lunch.
