Bike UNL will offer a free bike valet service during 2014 Jazz in June concerts. The music series opens June 3.

Bike UNL is offering a free bike valet service during Jazz in June concerts.

Individuals attending the concert series can leave bikes at the Bike UNL station by 13th and R streets. Contact information collected at drop off and photo identification will be required to retrieve bikes left at the valet station.

Freewill donations will be accepted. Proceeds will be used to install on-campus bike pumps and related workstations.

The bike valet service is available from 5 p.m. to one hour after each concert on June 3, 10, 17 and 24. Jazz in June music begins at 7 p.m. west of the Sheldon Museum of Art.

Failure to collect a bike by one hour after the conclusion of the performer’s final song will result in a $35 handling and storage fee. The bikes will be stored at the UNL Outdoor Adventures Center.

Bike valet patrons are encouraged to use bike routes that avoid heavy traffic. The routes are available online.

The goal of the bike valet program is to help alleviate heavy vehicle traffic while providing a safe, secure and convenient location for bicyclists to store bikes. The service first offered in fall 2013 for all home Husker football games. Organizers plan to offer a similar service again this fall.
