UNMC, UNL complete management transfer of University Health Center

Following a year-long review by the University of Nebraska Medical Center and groups of stakeholders, UNL completed the transfer of the management of the University Health Center to UNMC and its primary clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine. http://go.unl.edu/xb3k

Project to enhance 11th Street entrance

The 11th Street entrance to the UNL’s arts corridor is getting a facelift. The project, located west of the Lied Center for Performing Arts, is part of a series of campus entrance upgrades outlined in the UNL master plan. http://go.unl.edu/00jx

Pound Hall to remain open during 2015-16 academic year

This is the second consecutive year that Pound, which had originally been taken offline in early 2014, has remained open in response to student demand for on-campus housing. http://go.unl.edu/f30i

White House names Morrow ‘Champion of Change’

The White House recognized Kim Morrow, climate change resource specialist in UNL’s School of Natural Resources, and 11 others as “Champions of Change” for their efforts in protecting the environment and communities from the effects of climate change. http://go.unl.edu/0d79

East Campus rec center opens

UNL completed a five-year, $23 million renovation of campus recreation facilities with the July 13 opening of the Recreation and Wellness Center on East Campus. http://go.unl.edu/w3hw

NOAA center to expand UNL’s drought expertise

A federal official announced plans for the establishment of a new Drought Risk Management Research Center at UNL. The new center, announced June 24, will help state and local government be better prepared to respond to drought. http://go.unl.edu/qqdq

Morrill Hall plans $11.4M renovation via private funds

The University of Nebraska State Museum has announced plans for an $11.4 million, privately funded redevelopment that will add new exhibit space on the fourth floor of Morrill Hall. Clifton Foundation, Gallup donate $30M to CBA

The Clifton Foundation and Gallup on June 5 announced a $30 million gift to UNL to establish the Don Clifton Strengths Institute to further the mission of the late Donald O. Clifton through a long-term partnership with the College of Business Administration. http://go.unl.edu/hkkz

Postdoc oversees unprecedented collisions at Large Hadron Collider
