Information technology services is simplifying the password policy for University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, faculty and staff.

Starting March 24, password expiration dates will be eliminated and TrueYou and campus accounts will be synchronized so users have only a single password to remember.

The change does not immediately impact existing account passwords. Those used for TrueYou (Firefly, SAP and MyRed) and campus (email, Canvas and Box) passwords will synch the next time Huskers register a password via TrueYou.

University of Nebraska Medical Center accounts will remain separate from TrueYou credentials.

Users with access to sensitive information through SAP, Firefly and PeopleSoft have been enrolled in Duo to enhance security for those systems.

A universitywide active directory, called OneAD, is being developed. It will allow flexible usernames (NUID, username or email) for all logins across systems on campus and at UNK and UNO.
