Stauffer retirement reception is May 4

A retirement reception for Janice Stauffer, associate professor at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 4 in the lobby of the Temple Building, 12th and R streets.

Stauffer has been the resident costume designer and a theatre faculty member since 1979. She has designed more than 40 productions for the Nebraska Repertory Theatre and is a founding member of Flatwater Repertory Theatre.

Stauffer has also designed costumes at the Utah and Illinois Shakespearean Festivals and is a member of United Scene Artists Festivals.

Her research interests include 19th Century men’s fashion, tailoring and historic fashion illustrations. Stauffer enjoys the collaborative nature of theatre design and the integration of literature and visual arts.

A short presentation for Stauffer will at 5:15 p.m. at the reception.
