The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Out of the Darkness is hosting its annual campus and community walk for suicide prevention April 14.

Check-in will begin at 11 a.m, and opening ceremonies will start at noon outside of Nebraska Union. There will be guest speakers who will share a little bit about their personal journeys with mental health and suicide prevention. There will also be yard games, booths and a raffle.

All funds raised will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a national non-profit whose mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. The foundation is a research-based organization that conducts research on suicide prevention and uses that research to develop educational programs, support those who are struggling, and reach out to local communities about suicide prevention and mental health awareness.
