Microbiology Achievement through Research and Valuable Experiential Learning, or MARVEL, will host the third annual Microbiology Research Symposium, 3-5 p.m. Dec. 1 in the Nebraska Union’s Swanson Auditorium and Ballroom.

The first hour will include two keynote talks from Nicole Sexton, assistant professor in the School of Biological Sciences, and Byron Chaves, assistant professor in food safety and extension specialist. A poster session will follow during the second hour of the event. Further information and registration can be found online. This event is free to attend, open to all and onsite registrations are welcome.

Last year’s event included 35 research posters and 104 attendees from departments, centers and programs across campus. This annual event is part of the Microbiology Program’s MARVEL events, which aim to build community among microbiology-affiliated faculty, students and staff as well as promote experiential learning for undergraduate students in the Microbiology Program.
