Holiday concerts, seasonal treats, architectural visions and a library milestone are featured attractions in First Friday Artwalk events at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Dec. 2.

Both Sheldon Museum of Art and the International Quilt Study Center and Museum will host holiday concerts during the event.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chamber Singers will perform in the Sheldon’s Great Hall. The program begins at 5 p.m., with the Chamber Singers performing at 5:30 and 6:15 p.m.

At the quilt museum, Lincoln Southeast High School’s Art Nova and Bel Canto choirs will perform at 5:30 p.m.

Galleries in both museums will also be open for the event. All First Friday events are free and open to the public. Other university-related First Friday events include:

Great Plains Art Museum – The museum will offer cookies, cocoa, hands-on activities for kids, and a scavenger hunt from 5 to 7 p.m. Exhibits on display include: “Ten Years of Elizabeth Rubendall Artists in Residence,” “Contemporary Indigeneity: Spiritual Borderlands,” “Glimpses of the Southwest: Native American Art from the Permanent Collection” and “75 Iconic Covers from the University of Nebraska Press.” For more information, click here.

College of Architecture – Architecture students will display concepts for Lincoln’s Frank H. Woods Telephone Pioneer Museum in the south lobby of Pinnacle Bank Arena from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information on the project, click here.

Love Library – An opening reception and presentation for the “75th Anniversary of Love Library’s Cornerstone” exhibition is 4 to 7 p.m. at the library. Lincoln historian Jim McKee will discuss Don L. Love, the namesake for Love Library, and the library’s early years in a 4 p.m. lecture. Refreshments will be served. For more information, click here.
