Newspapers are an important source of information for genealogists and family historians. The Library of Congress is working to integrate its historical newspaper content with its other digitized holdings, all free to the public.

Traditionally found in a separate interface, newspaper pages can now be searched along with other materials across the Library’s collection.

Laura Weakly, principal investigator on the Nebraska Digital Newspaper Project, will pre-record her presentation discussing these changes and how to find information about your ancestors using this new interface at the next Genealogy over Lunch, at 11:30 a.m. April 18. Chad Koch, newspaper associate on the NDNP grant, will be present to answer any questions.

Genealogy Over Lunch meets once a month and is open to the campus community. The meetings are held via Zoom, and registration is required.
