Faculty, staff and graduate students sought to serve on investigations team

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s 2022-23 academic calendar will include a three-week pre-session in January and alignment of key dates with partner institutions.

To best serve students in a timely manner, Student Conduct and Community Standards at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is expanding its investigation team. Current faculty, staff and graduate students are encouraged to apply to be part of the investigation process.

The team will assist the university by investigating alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct for large-scale student organizations, including but not limited to, recognized student organizations, sports clubs, fraternities, sororities and other types of student groups. Volunteers will be trained in how to facilitate interviews, gather information from organization members and other relevant parties, as well as how to effectively capture and identify valuable information throughout the meeting.

All members of the teams will be expected to follow the investigation procedure process, facilitate interviews with students and other involved parties as necessary, document and provide a detailed notes summary after the investigation, maintain confidentiality and remain neutral and nonjudgmental. Individuals should have the ability to work with a variety of student organizations while exercising courtesy, respect and professionalism to all involved.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 3. Direct questions to studentconduct@unl.edu.
