The Computer Help Center and Repair Shop has found a new home.

Centrally located in Love Library South Room 31 on University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s City Campus, the help center and computer repair shop will provide students, faculty, and staff more convenient access to the computer help they need. The move officially takes place June 1.

Brandon Young, manager of the call center, said the new location will provide more streamlined collaboration among Huskertech and help center staff, as well as faster, better support for the five satellite locations across campus.

“With a large portion of our support staff now working from one of the premier academic hubs on campus, (Information Technology Services) will be positioned to know the pulse of the campus community and the technology needs of our customers,” Young said. “Before, it was hard to find us, especially for students who didn’t regularly get to our end of campus.”

For Young and his team, the goal is to get comfortable in their new space over the summer, while working out logistics before the fall semester. For now, it’s setting up furniture and finding new ways to make the customer experience the best it can be.

“We’re proud of the work our team has put into this transition and are thankful for the partnership with Dean Nancy Busch, the libraries team and all of their support,” said Neil Wineman, vice president of client Services for Information Technology Services. “It will be exciting to see how we can better serve the university community in this space.”
