September 11, 2001 is a day that changed America, a Generation, and the World.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be honoring and remembering the victims of that days tragic and horrific events as well as the members of the US Armed Forces from Nebraska who have lost their lives defending freedom since that day.

Beginning at 7 PM on September 11 in the City Campus Union Plaza, a Memorial Service will begin with the following speakers and events: The Presentation of Colors by the UNL ROTC Color Guard & playing of the National Anthem. Remarks from Student Body President Lane Carr, Special Guest Speaker Malika Yadgaro, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Dr. Juan Franco, and Major Alex Jack Ramthun of the US Marine Corps-Marine Officer Instructor. The Ceremony will conclude with a candle-light vigil and prayer service led by a representative of UNL Association of Campus Religious Workers (ACReW)

In addition to the Sunday evening memorial service, there will be a 9/11 and Fallen Service members Memorial on display at the East Campus Union and East Green Space September 6-7 and at the City Campus Union and City Green Space September 8-12.
