Joel Sartore to deliver keynote address Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as part of Earth Day Week April 18-22

ASUN has contracted with Joel Sartore - a graduate of the J school at UNL - to speak at an event celebrating Earth Week called “Focus Nebraska.”

A life-long Nebraskan, Joel Sartore will deliver the keynote address this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Plains Room at the East Campus Union. Joel is committed to conservation, especially in the Great Plains where he has lived his whole life. Joel will talk about his experiences as a photographer and use those experiences to make sense of global warming.

Sartore is a contract photographer for National Geographic Magazine. His two decades with the magazine have allowed him to cover everything from the remote Amazon rain forest to beer-drinking and mountain-racing firefighters in the United Kingdom.

Focus Nebraska has a number of events on topics that include the topics of clean energy, recycling, climate change, energy efficiency, and conservation of natural resources. A full schedule of the week’s activities is available on Facebook, keyword search
