Experts in the Field of Lasers

Husker researchers have been leading the way in laser surface modification for more than a decade. Craig Zuhlke, associate professor of computer and electrical engineering, is co-director of the Center for Electro-Optics and Functionalized Surfaces (CEFS). Zuhlke and fellow researchers invented a first-of-its-kind laser in the United States to be used for a specialized method of surface modification called femtosecond laser surface processing.
