Bio

Sharon Kuska is a registered professional civil engineer who teaches courses in architecture, computer applications in architecture and architectural design. Her topics of interest include rural architecture, bridges, and seismic design. She has studied covered bridge origins and design, four-square housing design and construction and high-strength concrete column design. Kuska is part of UNL’s Sustainability Initiative to improve the university’s environmental footprint and to build a more sustainable and resilient UNL community.

Timothy Wentz is a professor emeritus of construction management and a registered professional engineer in Nebraska. He focuses on sustainability in the built environment, high-performance building design and construction, Net Zero Buildings and human behavior interfaces with high-performance buildings.

Bio

John Hay is an associate extension coordinator for biological systems engineering. Hay’s outreach focuses on bioenergy within the state. He runs several seminars about the co-production and storage of ethanol and biodiesel. Hay also works with the university to talk with Nebraskan landowners about the wind energy development process, the complexities of wind contracts and the solar photovoltaic feasibility, design and economics.
